Chief Justice Rowe visits First Judicial District

Harper County

The late Justice Marian P. Opala, in an interview with OETA shortly before his death, said the most consequential case to come before the Oklahoma Supreme Court during his service was State v. Pile, 1978 OK 152, on appeal from the District Court of Harper County. 

Rowe said “Today I visited the courtroom where State v. Pile was tried nearly 50 years ago. My thanks to Associate District Judge Alley and Court Clerk Breon for their hospitality.” 

Beaver County

The Beaver County Courthouse was built in 1907. 

Texas County

Guymon is the county seat of Texas County and is the largest city in the panhandle. District Judge Jon Parsley’s district encompasses 1/6 of the entire state. His court reporter, Mary Oblander, is the only court reporter covering all four counties of the First Judicial District. 

Cimarron County

Cimarron County is the western-most county in the panhandle – and the state! Cimarron County borders Texas, New Mexico, Colorado and Kansas. Boise City is the county seat and boasts the highest elevation of any county seat in the state – 4,167 ft.
