By Anne Campbell Newman, a Choctaw/Chickasaw artist attended the University of Oklahoma where she was named Miss Oklahoma 1955, Miss Football and Miss OU, while studying art at the university. After becoming a finalist in the 1956 Miss America Pageant, she was well recognized for her career in modeling. Anne married OU football player and NFL football Hall of Famer Tommy McDonald and continued her modeling career in Philadelphia. Later in life she became a professional artist and married fellow artist Steven Newman. After her death, it was the families wish that her art be displayed in a public building in Oklahoma. Her cousin, Cris Ladusau, who had been flower girl in her first wedding, arranged for three pieces to be hung in the Judicial Center.
