These 21 pochoris represent their exhibit arranged by Oscar Jacobsen at the first international art exhibition in Prague, Czechoslovakia. Their work received international acclaim and established Native American art as fine art. Their work was exhibited throughout Europe. In 1929, Jacobson collaborated with a French printer to produce Kiowa Art. These are part of that portfolio. Lois Smokey’s painting, the only woman in the group is featured next to the plaque. The pochoris are a gift from Jo Rowan, prima ballerina, founder and director of the Oklahoma City University dance program and of the American Spirit Dance Company, and her husband John Bedford, longtime Dean of the School of Dance.
